My guess is 1965, because of the Peyton Place listing.  I was a pre-teen then and my mom simply would not let me watch it!  She thought the subject matter was far to "adult" for the era.

I remember the George Pierrot show. My mother was one of his guests when he did a segment on Japan.
I remember being on the show, with my brothers sitting by her feet.

The Flintstones listing gave it away for me. It was a rerun that originally ran in January 1965 on ABC. Being played as a rerun back then would probably only happen once during the same year for summer.

Wow! It was really interesting to see what we used to watch on TV. Lots of cartoons and soaps, then called "serials."

Meg Reilly, Phoenix AZ

There was a US/ Russian track meet in 1965 (listed in the TV Guide reprint) and many shows are in color, so it was not likely to be much prior to 1965.

Bernie Palmer, Detroit MI

The Sir Douglas Quintet gave it away (in the additional hints, part of the 'Shivaree' show), though I guess it could be 66.

Jim Burke, Novi MI

Ah, those were the days. When you could turn on the TV and see your favorite songs performed.

Sharon Robertson, Mesa AZ

Joey Bishop hosted the Tonight Show with guests
Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Sally Ann Howes. Teen Town became Swingin' Summertime in the summer of 1965.

July 30, 1965…Final Answer…LOL :)

The Shivaree Show (Episode 24) aired July 10, 1965 in Los Angeles. Not sure when it aired in Detroit.

Bruce Wallace, Redondo Beach CA

1965, in fact, I'd guess it was July 30, 1965. Great puzzle. I enjoyed looking at the old listings!

Tom Somyak, Austin TX

I was torn between 1965 and 1966.  Ah, the memories looking at the TV schedule, back when there were three main channels -- and channels 9, 50 and 56!

Toni Cantley, Troy MI

I remember watching the "Flintstones" when it was a prime-time show. I had special permisson from my parents to stay up late (8 PM!) on the night it was on.
I also remember that Channel 50 (WKBD) started broadcasting in 1965, which I couldn't watch because our TV was VHF only.

Joe Fishbein, West St Paul MN
